Dr Esther Cole
Consultant Clinical Psychologist
Dr Esther Cole is an award-winning Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience. She works with clients across the lifespan and provides expert therapy for a wide range of psychological concerns, including anxiety, panic, OCD, depression, trauma, sleep difficulties, and long-term health conditions.
Esther has received significant recognition for her work. She was the first Black Clinical Psychologist to win the British Psychological Society's Early Career Award in 2020, and she has twice been named Specialist Therapy Provider of the Year at the Prestige Awards (2022 and 2024). These achievements reflect her expertise, dedication, and passion for advancing accessible psychological support.
Her academic and professional background includes a degree in Experimental Psychology from Oxford University, a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and postgraduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She has also developed expertise across a broad range of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavioural Activation, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Solution-Focused Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Reminiscence and Life Story Work, and Neuropsychological Rehabilitation. This breadth allows her to offer highly flexible, evidence-based, and integrative therapy.
As a third-generation British Jamaican psychologist and mother of three, Esther brings warmth, inclusivity, and lived understanding to her work. She has a particular passion for men's mental health and for supporting people living with the challenges of physical or neurological conditions alongside psychological difficulties. Clients describe her as compassionate and collaborative, with a style that balances depth of understanding with practical strategies for change.
